Course and race operations
Swims use a time trial start with two athletes started every few seconds; an Elite Box Start is available for athletes racing up front. The Olympic swim is triangular and the sprint swim is rectangular; both start and finish near the transition area and are described as spectator friendly. Bike courses use paved, low-traffic roads with rolling terrain; the Olympic bike is two loops and the sprint bike is a single loop. Run courses are out-and-back with short wooded and gravel approaches and sections along fields and the South Anna River. Parking at the venue is limited and some parking is off site. Packet pickup is available at the race site on the day before and the morning of the event. Registration includes a tech shirt, finisher medal, custom socks, timed results, age-group awards and post-race food. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
