Event Overview
The Kinetic Triathlon Festival is a two-day event held in Spotsylvania, Virginia. The festival takes place at Lake Anna State Park. Events are held over two days, with the Long Course (Half) and Olympic distance events scheduled for Saturday, and the Sprint distance event for Sunday.
Events and Distances
The festival offers a variety of triathlon, aquabike, and relay events. Distances for the main individual triathlon formats are:
- Long Course (Half): 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike, 13.1-mile run.
- Olympic: 1.5k swim, 40k bike, 10k run.
- Sprint: 750m swim, 15.5-mile bike, 5k run.
Course and Venue
The event is based at Lake Anna State Park. The swim features a sandy beach start in freshwater. The bike course uses rolling country roads, and the run course stays entirely within the state park. The park venue offers banked, stadium-style seating that overlooks the swim start/finish, run course, and finish line. The park also features miles of trails, a playground, a swimming beach, and a visitor center with a "gold mine" exhibit.
Additional Information
Registration includes a finisher medal, an event tech shirt, custom race socks, a reusable packet pick-up bag, timed results, age group awards, a post-race meal, a finisher certificate, and free finish line photos. The event uses a time trial swim start, with two athletes starting every few seconds. There is also an "Elite Box Start" option for athletes aiming for top overall positions.
