North East Triathlon
The North East Triathlon is a multi-sport festival held in the waterfront town of North East, Maryland. The event features a variety of race formats and distances, including Olympic and Sprint categories. Participants can choose between individual triathlons, aquabike events, or relay teams.
The swim takes place in the Chesapeake Bay and utilizes a time-trial start, where two athletes enter the water every few seconds to ensure a consistent flow. For those intending to compete for a top overall position, an Elite Box Start option is available at the front of the pack. The bike course travels along well-paved country roads near Elk Neck State Forest. This section is technical in places and contains hills, but also features straightaways with views of the surrounding landscape.
The run course is an out-and-back route on the road shoulder heading south of town, characterized by lightly rolling terrain. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT) and provides timed results, finisher medals, and age group awards.

- Olympic Triathlon: 1.5 km swim, 22.8 mile bike, and 10 km run.
