Top Gun Triathlon - Event details
The Top Gun Triathlon takes place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in St. Petersburg, Florida (3500 Pinellas Bayway S., 33715). The event is USAT sanctioned and includes multiple race formats: individual and relay triathlon, individual and relay duathlon, active military divisions, an aqua-bike, and a Clydesdale-Athena triathlon division. Relay teams may be two or three persons.
Distances:
- Sprint triathlon: 0.25 miles swim, 10 miles bike, 3.1 miles run
- Duathlon: 1.5 miles run, 10 miles bike, 5 km run
- Aqua-Bike: 0.25 miles swim, 10 miles bike
Logistics and amenities
Packet pickup is scheduled on Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31 at PlayTri St. Petersburg (2132 Central Ave), with additional race-day check-in at THE FORT. A first-timer athlete class is planned at the PlayTri store on Friday, July 31. The race is conducted on a closed course in Fort De Soto.
On-site amenities include pre- and post-race parties and entertainment, and presence of Rita's Ice. Finishers receive custom medals made in the USA. Age group awards are offered three deep for age divisions from 15-19 up to 80 and over, and awards are given to the top three relay teams.
