Courses and logistics
The swim is a triangle course from the middle Honeymoon Island beach with depths varying by tide. The bike course is a 6 mile loop over the Dunedin Causeway draw bridge and around Honeymoon Island, completed twice for a total of 12 miles. The run uses paved parking lots and a hard packed trail near the Osprey Trailhead; the 5K run has been modified to include two laps due to trail damage. Park entry for athletes is covered by the Rotary Club and there is no park entry fee for race participants. Volunteers will direct parking and packet pickup.
Packet pickup is available on the Friday and Saturday before the race at local locations and on race morning. Timing uses a disposable ankle chip and athletes are timed in multiple areas including transitions.
Rules and awards
Swim caps are provided and must be worn. No artificial propulsion devices are allowed in the swim; water shoes are permitted. Helmets must be secured before mounting the bike and kept on until the bike is racked. Only participating athletes may enter transition. All finishers receive a finisher medal. Age group, specialty divisions, relay, duathlon, and aquabike awards are specified by the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
