Course Details
The 2-hour race is trekking only (on foot). Participants navigate to checkpoints, covering 6-8 miles on a mix of paved trails and off-trail terrain including brush, trees, and possibly water.
The 6-hour race combines trekking, mountain biking, and paddling. Participants receive pre-plotted topographic maps on race morning. The course involves orienteering with estimated distances of 20+ miles of biking, 10 miles of hiking, and 1-2 miles of paddling. Travel occurs on single-track and paved biking trails, on and off hiking trails, and on a lake.
For both formats, teams choose their own route and strategy between checkpoints. There are few rules of travel, though some checkpoints (transition areas) are mandatory. Teams can skip optional checkpoints and still finish officially, though this may affect final ranking. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
