The Shawnee Mission Triathlon and Duathlon takes place on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Shawnee Mission Park in Lenexa, KS. - Olympic - 1500 m swim; 27 mi bike (6 laps); 6.1 mi run
- Long - 1000 m swim; 18 mi bike (4 laps); 4.68 mi run
- Short - 500 m swim; 9 mi bike (2 laps); 3.1 mi run
- Super Sprint - 200 m swim; 4.5 mi bike (1 lap); 2.25 mi run
- Duathlon - 3.1 mi run; 13.5 mi bike (3 laps); 3.1 mi run
The course includes sections on the Mill Creek Streamway Trail with asphalt pathways along the stream and through hillside forest. The duathlon run segments use the main park road and the Mill Creek Streamway Trail; the first run loop is counterclockwise and the second is clockwise. The duathlon bike segment is three laps on the main park road.
Categories and eligibility
Age eligibility varies by event, with races open to participants as young as 11 and as old as 110 depending on the distance. The triathlon also includes Athena (women) and Clydesdale (men) divisions with minimum weights of 165 pounds for women and 220 pounds for men; each has age groups under 40 and 40 and over.
