Course format and important details

The 2-hour events are on foot only and require trekking on paved trails and off-trail sections. The 6-hour events combine trekking, mountain biking, paddling, and orienteering. Maps and checkpoints are provided as pre-plotted topographic maps at packet pickup on race morning. Boats, paddles, and life jackets are provided for the 6-hour race.

  • 6-hour race: 20+ miles biking, 10 miles hiking, 1-2 miles paddling
  • 2-hour race: 6-8 miles trekking

Most checkpoints are optional; several transition checkpoints are mandatory. Teams may skip checkpoints and still record an official finish. The event is self-supported: participants must carry their own water, food, first aid, and other personal supplies. Only gear and supplies carried by a participant or on their bike are available during the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
