Event Overview
The Sunset Lake Triathlon is a multi-discipline sports event featuring several race formats. It is held in Bridgeton, New Jersey.
Event Format
Participants can choose from several events:
- Olympic Triathlon (1500m swim, 26-mile bike, 10k run)
- Sprint Triathlon (0.25-mile swim, 13-mile bike, 5k run)
- Duathlon (2-mile run, 13-mile bike, 5k run)
- Aquabike (0.25-mile swim, 13-mile bike)
- Swim/Run (0.25-mile swim, 5k run)
- Bike Only (26-mile time trial)
- Sprint Triathlon Relay
- Olympic Triathlon Relay
- Duathlon Relay
Course Details
The swim and run portions take place in and around Bridgeton Park and the Cohanzick Zoo. The run course is on paved trails and closed roads. The bike course travels on scenic country roads and is partially closed to traffic, with police monitoring.
Additional Information
The event is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event. There is a bike-only option for participants interested only in cycling. The event is part of the DQ Events Grand Prix and Club Challenge series.
A mobile bike shop, Gradient Bike Shop, offers on-site mechanical services. NovaCare Rehabilitation provides pre- and post-race stretching and massages.
Awards are given for various categories including overall, age group, Clydesdale/Athena, and physically challenged/intellectually disabled open divisions, as well as for relay teams. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
