Event Overview
The Rattlesnake Lake Triathlon takes place in North Bend, Washington, during Labor Day weekend. This multi-sport event is staged at Rattlesnake Lake and utilizes the surrounding Snoqualmie Valley Trail and the Palouse to Cascade Mountain bike trail. The event is USAT sanctioned and has a participation cap.
Course Details
The triathlon consists of three distinct segments:
- 1/4 mile swim in the fresh waters of Rattlesnake Lake.
- 10 mile bike on a mixed course featuring 3 miles of road and 7 miles of hard packed dirt.
- 4 mile run composed of 3 miles on asphalt bike paths and 1 mile on limestone and dirt paths.
The cycling portion occurs on the Palouse to Cascade Mountain bike trail. While the surface consists of limestone and hard packed dirt, regular road bikes are permitted. The run path traverses scenic areas within Rattlesnake and Cascades Park.
Location and Logistics
Participants can find free parking at the Seattle Public Utilities lot at Rattlesnake Lake. Parking at the Washington State Trail lot requires a Discover Pass. An optional packet pick up is available the day before the race at the event site. A mandatory safety briefing is conducted online prior to the event to cover rules and regulations, with a recording provided for those unable to attend the live session.
