17th Annual Fawn Lake Adult and Youth Triathlons
The Fawn Lake Adult and Youth Triathlons take place in Spotsylvania, Virginia. This multi-generational event features several race formats designed for different age groups and experience levels. The adult course includes a swim in a pristine lake, followed by a bike ride on traffic-free roads with gentle rolling hills, and finishes with a run on a shaded course.
The event offers the following distances and categories:
- Adult Triathlon (Ages 15 and Up): 700 meter lake swim, 12.4 mile bike ride, and 5 km run.
- Adult Triathlon 3 Person Relay: The same distances as the individual adult event, completed by a team of three.
- Youth Triathlon (Ages 10-15): 225 meter pool swim, 6.2 mile bike ride, and 2 km run.
- Youth Triathlon (Ages 6-11): 75 meter pool swim, 3.1 mile bike ride, and 1 km run.
The competition is supported by a large volunteer presence from the local community. Amenities provided on-site include electrolyte replacement products for all participants. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as winners in specific age groups ranging from under 10 to 70 and over. Specialized awards are also given to top masters finishers and the fastest Fawn Lake residents. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
