Event overview
Belews Lake Olympic Triathlon is an Olympic-distance multisport event held in mid-September at Carolina Marina in Stokesdale, North Carolina. The event is part of the Trivium Multisport Series and includes triathlon, aquabike, and duathlon options. The race uses a time trial start format and awards points toward the Trivium Multisport Series and the Trivium Club Cup Series.

Course and logistics
The swim takes place in Belews Lake with an in-water start at the boat launch and a triangular swim course. Participants exit to the transition area about 50 yards from the water. Swim caps are mandatory and a 100 yard swim time must be submitted for starting position. The bike is a two-loop route on smooth rural roads with several hills; intersections are staffed by police and volunteers and turns are signed. The run is a two-loop course on smooth roads with rolling hills and aid stations approximately every 1 mile. Parking volunteers will direct vehicles from Shelton Road to parking areas near the staging area.
Entry, awards and policies
Registration includes a custom short sleeve shirt, a race finishers medal, chip timing with five timing point splits, and post-race food and drinks. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to top three age-group placers in five-year age groups from 14 and under through 80+. Special awards are listed for collegiate, Athena, Clydesdale, masters Clydesdale, and relay teams. The refund policy states no refunds within 30 days of the event; earlier than 30 days a 50% refund may be requested (processing fees excluded). Entries can be transferred to another person for a $5 fee; entries cannot be deferred to another event or year. In the event of cancellation for reasons beyond the race director's control, refunds will not be issued but race packets will be made available.
