Course and logistics
All in-person events use Vancouver Lake Regional Park (6801 NW Lower River Rd, Vancouver, WA). The courses run along the pancake flats near Vancouver Lake and the Columbia River and are described as virtually flat with minimal elevation gain. The duathlon bike route is on smooth pavement with no railroad tracks and limited vehicle traffic. Parking is included with registration fees. There will be music, vendors, food and post-event refreshments at the start/finish area.
Rules, awards and services
The event follows USAT rules for duathlon and triathlon; drafting is prohibited and helmets are required. Music is not permitted on the bike segment; single-earbud use is allowed on running segments. Awards are given to overall and age-group placings, plus Clydesdale and Athena categories (men 220+ lbs, women 165+ lbs); Clydesdale/Athena entrants are not eligible for age-group awards.
