PDX Triathlon Festival
The PDX Triathlon Festival is a multisport event held at Blue Lake Regional Park in Fairview, Oregon. The event is described as the 43rd annual edition and a traditional start to the summer racing season.
It features a wide range of formats and distances. The main event categories are Olympic, Sprint, and Super Sprint, each offering several race types. Available formats include triathlon, duathlon (run-bike-run), and aquabike (swim-bike). There is also a Paddle Triathlon option, which replaces the swim with kayaking or paddleboarding. Relay options are available for most formats. The festival also includes a standalone 5K run.
The event takes place over a weekend. Activities include a Sports & Fitness Expo, kids' races, and a Sunset 5K on Saturday. The main Super Sprint, Sprint, and Olympic distance races are on Sunday.
The course is described as scenic, flat, and fast. The bike course primarily uses a section of Marine Drive that is closed to through traffic, which is noted for contributing to safety. Parking is included with the registration cost. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
