Smith Point Sprint Triathlon
The Smith Point Sprint Triathlon is held at Smith Point County Park in Shirley, New York. The event features several competitive categories, including individual and relay triathlons, a high school division for participants aged 14 to 18, an AquaBike option, and a bike-and-run event for those who prefer not to swim.
The course begins with a 500 meter swim in Narrow Bay. Following the swim, participants transition to a 10.2 mile bike ride. The bike segment consists of two loops on the William Floyd Parkway, a route designed to double police coverage on the course. The race concludes with a 5K run over the bridge, with the finish line located near the Atlantic Ocean.
Available event categories include:
- Individual Triathlon
- Triathlon Relay
- High School Individual and Relay
- AquaBike
- Bike-Run (no swim portion)
All finishers receive a medal. Event shirts are provided to participants, though availability is only guaranteed for those who register before July 28th. The bike and run sections of the course are flat. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
