River Trail Adventure Triathlon
The River Trail Adventure Triathlon is a multi-sport event located in Lowell, Michigan. This competition features a modified format often referred to as a "Dri" Triathlon, which replaces the traditional swimming leg with a kayaking segment. Participants navigate a course that includes water, cycling, and running elements. The biking portion utilizes a combination of paved paths and dirt trails, while the running portion consists of both road and trail surfaces.
Participants can choose between two primary distances, available for both individuals and relay teams of two or three people:
- Tri-Hard: 1-mile kayak, 6.5-mile bike, and 1.5-mile run or walk.
- Tri-Harder: 2-mile kayak, 16-mile bike, and 3.5-mile run or walk.
Individuals who wish to participate but do not have a full team can register as free agents to be assigned to a relay group. The event is open to various ages and experience levels. For those who do not own equipment, kayak rentals can be reserved through a local sporting goods provider during the registration process. The event takes place at High St SE and includes options for non-participants to contribute via donations. Registration typically includes a t-shirt for those who sign up before the designated June deadline. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
