Race Omaha - Omaha Triathlon
The Omaha Triathlon takes place at Lake Cunningham, marking 17 years of multisport competition in Nebraska. This event features the state's only Olympic distance triathlon, alongside a sprint distance option. Both courses run concurrently, with the swim portion held in the lake followed by cycling and running segments.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- Olympic Triathlon - 1500m swim, 40km bike, and 10K run for individuals or teams.
- Olympic Team - A relay format for teams of two or three athletes.
- Sprint Triathlon - 750m swim, 20K bike, and 5K run.
The Olympic distance utilizes a 40km bike course, while the swim covers approximately one mile. The sprint distance is exactly half the length of the Olympic distance for the swim and run portions. All participants receive a race packet containing a bib number, swim cap, numbered wristband, race shirt, and a disposable timing chip. A valid photo ID is required for packet collection.
The transition area is located near the finish line. While bike drop-off is available on the Saturday preceding the race, it is not mandatory. However, all bicycles must be placed in the transition area before it closes on race morning and must display the provided race number sticker.
