Event overview
The Oldham County Sprint Triathlon takes place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Wendell Moore Park in La Grange, KY (1551 Hwy 393). It is the 23rd annual edition and is USAT sanctioned. Registration opens January 30, 2026, and the registration deadline is August 12, 2026. The field is limited to 200 entries. The entry fee is $75 per individual; non-USAT members must pay an additional fee for one-day insurance.
Course format and distances
- Swimming: 400 meters, time start every 15 seconds in the John W. Black Aquatic Center 25 meter pool.
- Biking: 10 miles on Oldham County roads (non closed) with police at major intersections; the bike course is hilly.
- Running: 2 miles on park grounds, using an asphalt trail with a few grass sections.
Awards and race services
All triathletes receive a finish medal at the finish line. An awards ceremony follows the race and includes free pizza. Awards are given to Overall Female, Overall Male, and the top two finishers in several age groups. All participants receive a ticket for a chance to win door prizes during the awards ceremony.
