Event Overview

The MMTT Splash and Dash is a swim-run event for youth, taking place in Geneva, Illinois. It features two age-based categories. The location is the Northwestern Medicine Delnor Fitness and Health Center at 296 Randall Road.

Distances and Age Groups

Participants compete in one of two events based on their age on race day.

  • Juniors (ages 6-10): A 100-meter swim followed by a 1-kilometer run.
  • Seniors (ages 11-17): A 200-meter swim followed by a 2-kilometer run.

Course and Logistics

The swim takes place in a 25-meter pool. Junior swimmers complete their distance in a "snake" pattern across lanes, starting one at a time. Senior swimmers share a lane with one other athlete, swimming in waves. The run course is on trails around the Fitness Center property, with an aid station providing water.

Athletes transition in a contained grassy area outside the pool. Finisher medals are provided to participants. A USA Triathlon membership is required, with a separate annual license fee.

Registration and Details

Packet pickup and race-day registration are available. The event is chip-timed, with live results. Awards are given separated by gender within specific age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
