Finger Lakes Triathlon Canandaigua
The Finger Lakes Triathlon is held annually at Kershaw Park on the shores of Canandaigua Lake in New York. This multisport event is one of the largest in Upstate NY and attracts over 1,000 participants from across the United States and Canada. The competition includes a variety of formats held over a two-day period, including triathlons, duathlons, and aquabike races.
Participants can choose from several distance options and categories:
- Intermediate Triathlon: 0.9 mile swim, 24 mile bike, and 6.2 mile run.
- Sprint Triathlon: 0.45 mile swim, 13 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run.
- Duathlon: 2.9 mile run, 13 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run.
- Intermediate Aquabike: 0.9 mile swim and 24 mile bike.
- Sprint Aquabike: 0.45 mile swim and 13 mile bike.
- Kids Tri (ages 11-15): 175 meter swim, 3.1 mile bike, and 0.8 mile run.
- Kids Fun Tri (10 and younger): 115 meter swim, 1.6 mile bike, and 0.57 mile run.
The intermediate and sprint triathlon distances are open to individual competitors as well as relay teams consisting of two or three members. Specialized categories such as a High School Sprint and Charity Spots are also available. The youth events are timed and conclude at a finish line area within the park grounds.
