Event overview
Mission is an adventure race with an 18-hour main event and a shorter 4-hour Lite option. The 2026 race date is Saturday, May 2, 2026. The specific start and finish location is pending. The event is designed to include navigation, cycling, trekking, paddling, and special challenges; ropes and climbing are listed but not required for the 2025 event. Live tracking is available for spectators.
Format and rules
Teams may be two- or three-person and must remain within 100 feet of each other at all times. A Solo division is offered for the 18-hour race; solo applicants must submit a race resume showing relevant experience. Field limits are 50 teams per race length. Scoring is based on checkpoints punched minus penalty points, with penalties for missed checkpoints, gear violations, littering, trespassing, use of motorized aid, and other rule breaches. There is a scheduled finish cutoff; late arrivals receive penalty points.
