The Cape Fear Indoor Triathlon takes place on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Coastal Fitness Center, 98 Quarter Horse Ln, Hampstead, North Carolina 28443. The event is a fundraiser; 100% of proceeds will be donated to the Cape Fear Youth Triathlon Team (CFYTT). Entry options include a virtual entry and multiple in-person heats. The virtual entry fee is $35 and in-person heats are listed at $45.
Format and entry
The race is an indoor, one-hour triathlon composed of three consecutive segments: 10 minutes of swim or water walking in the lap pool, 30 minutes of cycling in the Cycle Studio, and 20 minutes of running or walking on a treadmill. Performance is measured by self-reported distance covered in each segment. Transitions are fixed at 10 minutes between the swim and bike and 5 minutes between the bike and run. In-person participants start in waves of four people every 15 minutes; participants choose a wave during registration. All in-person participants receive a participant T-shirt and a finishing prize; virtual participants receive a T-shirt by mail. Participants must be at least eight years old.
