Labor Day Multisport Event in Plano
The Blackland Triathlon and Blackland Youth Tri take place at the Oak Point Recreation Center in Plano, Texas. This multisport event features a variety of race formats including triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, and aquathlon, followed by a Labor Day picnic.
The event offers several individual and team distances:
- Sprint Triathlon: 300m pool swim, 13.5 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run.
- Sprint Duathlon: 3.1 mile run, 13.5 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run.
- Try a Tri: 200 meter swim, 9 mile bike, and 2 mile run.
- Sprint Aquabike: 300m pool swim and 13.5 mile bike.
- Sprint Aquathlon: 300m pool swim and 3.1 mile run.
- Youth Triathlon Junior: 100m swim, 3 mile bike, and 1k run.
- Youth Triathlon Senior: 200m swim, 6 mile bike, and 2k run.
- Youth Splash and Dash: 100m or 200m swim and 1k or 2k run.
Specific categories are available for various participants, including a relay option for teams of two or three people. The Sprint Triathlon includes an Athena/Clydesdale division for men over 220 lbs and women over 165 lbs, as well as a dedicated High School division.
Adaptive categories are provided for both adults and youth. These divisions are designed for athletes with physical, visual, intellectual, or other impairments, following the USA Triathlon definition for adaptive multisport events.
