Course and logistics
The swim is held in open water; wetsuits are not required. The run course is mainly a trail shaded by old growth Western Larch trees and measures about 3 miles. The bike course covers a mix of paved county road, dirt road and trails and is 7.8 miles. The county has closed the Boy Scout bridge until 2027. Organizers use a 3 second staggered start from the transition area and chip all racers, including children, with finish times available immediately.
Parking is at Pyramid Mountain Lumber; there is no parking at the race site. Racers’ fees include parking, shuttle, a race chip, snacks, and medals for winners; T-shirts are distributed to registrants who meet the stated deadline. Spectator parking and shuttle are free; spectators must stay out of the transition area and may use the trail from the finish area to the beach. Kids use the outside swim buoys, may wear life vests, and parents may follow inside the buoys. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
