XTERRA North American Championship : Overview
The XTERRA North American Championship is scheduled for May 15–17, 2026 in Pelham, Alabama at Oak Mountain State Park. The three-day event includes a stop on the XTERRA World Cup, the North American Championship, the Youth North American Championship (ages 14–19), and the 2026 Youth & Junior Cross National Championship. The event will be accompanied by a festival with live music, food trucks, beer gardens, and kids races. Event details are not yet confirmed.
The elite prize purse is listed as $30,000. The event is part of the XTERRA World Cup series, which will award $340,000 across its professional events. The full-distance North American Championship offers 58 qualifying spots to the XTERRA World Championship on October 10, 2026 in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
All multi-sport athletes are required to hold a USA Triathlon license. A one-event Bronze Membership can be purchased during registration to provide single-event sanctioning and participant accident medical coverage.
