Event Overview
The West Valley Triathlon takes place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, in Goodyear, Arizona. The event starts and finishes at the Goodyear YMCA. It is open to youth and adults of all ages, and participants can compete as individuals or as part of a relay team.
Sanctioning and Requirements
The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT). All participants must have a valid USAT Day membership or annual USAT membership.
Events and Distances
The event offers multiple race formats:
- Full Sprint Triathlon: 400m swim, 12 mile bike, 5K run.
- Short Sprint Triathlon: 200m swim, 8 mile bike, 1.5 mile run.
- Mini Triathlon: 100m swim, 4 mile bike, 1 mile run.
- Duathlon: 5K run, 12 mile bike, 5K run.
There are also relay and family versions of the Full Sprint and Short Sprint distances, as well as a Youth Triathlon.
New for 2026
For the 2026 event, each distance will use color-coded bibs to assist with course signage.
Participant Swag
All participants receive a finisher award. A t-shirt is guaranteed for those who register by November 7, 2026. Participants in the Full Sprint Triathlon and Relay receive an event T-shirt and a long sleeve T-shirt. Those in the Short Sprint Triathlon, Mini Triathlon, and Duathlon receive an event T-shirt and a hat.
Awards
Awards are given to the top finishers in various age groups and categories. For the Full Sprint Triathlon, the top three male and female finishers in each age group (17 and under, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over) receive awards. Other events award the top male and female in age groups. Relay teams are awarded for first place in COED, Female, and Male categories. Participants must be present to receive their award.
