Multisport Competition in Georgia
The Tugaloo Olympic, Sprint and Aquabike takes place at Tugaloo State Park in Lavonia, Georgia. This event provides several multisport distances and categories, including individual races, relays, and an aquabike option. Participants can compete in the following formats:
- Olympic: 1.5k swim, 42k bike, and 10k run.
- Sprint: 500 yard swim, 14 mile bike, and 5k run.
- Olympic Aquabike: 1.5k swim and 42k bike.
- Olympic Relay: Three-part course for teams.
- Sprint Relay: Three-part course for teams.
The event features a Club Team Competition. A club team must have three or more members, and all participants on a specific team must register for the same race distance. Individuals participating in a club team also compete as age group participants. Team rankings are determined by the points earned through the age group finishing positions of the members.
The competition is open to a wide range of ages. The Sprint distance is open to participants aged 13 to 99, while the Olympic and relay categories are open to those between the ages of 15 and 99. The venue at Tugaloo State Park includes a dedicated transition area and distinct course maps for the swim, bike, and run segments of both the Olympic and Sprint distances.
