Trillium - A Women's Only Event
Trillium is a multi-sport competition held in Sylvania, Ohio, designed specifically for female participants. This USAT sanctioned event has taken place since 2005 and features both individual and relay categories for triathlons and duathlons. The race is hosted at Centennial Quarry and is open to various age groups depending on the specific event.
Participants in the triathlon start two-at-a-time in a time trial format from the steps of the Centennial Quarry. The event offers several different race structures to accommodate different preferences:
- Triathlon: 400 meter swim, 11 mile bike, and 5k (3.1 mile) run.
- Duathlon: 1 mile run, 11 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run.
- Triathlon Relay: Three-member team (one swimmer, one biker, and one runner).
- Duathlon Relay: Two-member team (one person performs both runs, another bikes).
The individual triathlon and relay events are open to participants aged 15 and older, while the individual duathlon is open to participants aged 12 and older. As a USAT sanctioned race, the event follows the safety and fairness standards established by the national governing body for multisport.
