Tri the Parks - John Tanner Fall Sprint
The Tri the Parks - John Tanner Fall Sprint takes place in Carrollton, Georgia, at John Tanner Park. This multisport event features several race formats with a field limit of 500 participants. Athletes can choose from the following categories:
- Sprint Triathlon: 600 meter swim, 13.8 mile bike, and 5 km run.
- Sprint Duathlon: 5 km run, 13.8 mile bike, and 5 km run.
- Sprint Aquabike: 600 meter swim and 13.8 mile bike.
- Relay Options: Available for Triathlon, Duathlon, and Aquabike distances.
The swim portion is a 600 meter triangle-shaped course at the shoreline, conducted as a time trial start with athletes departing every five seconds. The 13.8 mile bike course consists of a clockwise loop on paved county roads, featuring a mix of rolling hills and flat sections. The 5 km run course follows a loop design; the first mile is on a flat, paved trail around the park lake, while the rest of the course utilizes unpaved park roads and paved county roads.
This event is USAT Sanctioned and follows all standard USAT rules. Participants are required to have a USAT membership or a one-day license. The transition area uses coordinated bike racks assigned by race number, and all participants receive body marking before the start. Parking is available inside the park gate, and the finish line for the run is located on the lake dam. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
