Tri for Real Triathlon #3
The Tri for Real Triathlon #3 takes place at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, California. This event is part of a three-race series held throughout the summer months. The competition features several multi-sport formats, including an Olympic-distance triathlon, an Aquabike race, and a Super Sprint distance.
The Olympic-distance event and the Aquabike competition are USA Triathlon sanctioned. For those competing in the full Olympic-distance series across all three dates in June, July, and August, a Series Championship is held with awards for different five-year age groups. Relay teams are also permitted to participate in the Olympic-distance event.
Participants in the triathlon receive a swim cap, post-race refreshments, and a commemorative finisher piece. The event site at Rancho Seco Park requires a vehicle entrance fee. Access to the park is restricted during certain morning windows due to specific course closures for the Super Sprint bike segment.
Available distances and formats include:
- Olympic Triathlon: 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, and 10 km run
- Aquabike: 1.5 km swim and 40 km bike
- Super Sprint Triathlon: 200 yard swim, 4 mile bike, and 1 mile run
- Relay Teams: Available for the Olympic-distance triathlon
