Southern Tier Triathlon Club Summer Tri Series #3 : Cassadaga, NY
The event takes place Wednesday, August 5, 2026 in Cassadaga, NY (Park Avenue). This is Race #3 of a three-race series. Points are earned at each race and overall awards are given to the top five male and female athletes at the end of the season. The listed entry fee is $95.34 (includes $6.34 fee); the price increases after December 31, 2025.
Course and format
- 400 yd swim
- 13 mile bike
- 2 mile run
The swim is in the Lower Lake with an in-water start from a sandy shore and a turn around a pontoon boat. Personal swim buoys are allowed if worn at the back of the pack. The bike course is 13 miles, all right-hand turns, and is described as hilly; there are no aid stations on the bike course and one aid station will be located in transition. The run starts from transition, follows the lakeshore, is mostly flat with one small bump, and uses an out-and-back route. Aid stations are stocked in transition and at the run turn-around with Hammer Nutrition products and water.
Paratriathletes are welcome. An AquaBike option is available for individuals only. Relay entries may include 2 or 3 members, each completing one or two legs.
Logistics, rules and awards
The race is USAT sanctioned and participants must be current members or purchase one-day event coverage. Free parking is provided in a large lot about 1/2 mile from the site; there is no drop-off at the site and parking on Park Avenue is prohibited. Helmets must be worn when riding a bike. The event is held rain or shine. There is no refund, though deferral to 2027 may be allowed with advance notice to the organizer. Awards include top 3 overall and age-group prizes for triathlon, top 3 for paratriathletes and AquaBike, and top 3 for relay teams. Post-race items listed include a t-shirt if registered at least one month prior, a finisher medal, a beer zone for those 21 and older, and a pot luck picnic with family members included.
