Multisport Event for Young Athletes
The Chile Harvest YOUTH Triathlon is a multisport competition designed for participants between the ages of 7 and 14. Hosted on the campus of New Mexico Tech in Socorro, New Mexico, the event utilizes the New Mexico Tech Swim Center and surrounding grounds. The race structure includes a pool swim, a bike segment on paved roads, and a run held on grass surfaces.
Age groups are determined based on the participant's age as of December 31, 2026. The event offers four distinct sets of distances tailored to specific age brackets:
- 7-8 years: 50 yard swim, 1 mile bike, and 0.5 mile run.
- 9-10 years: 100 yard swim, 2 mile bike, and 0.5 mile run.
- 11-12 years: 150 yard swim, 3 mile bike, and 1 mile run.
- 13-14 years: 200 yard swim, 3 mile bike, and 1 mile run.
Participation requires a USA Triathlon membership. If a participant does not have a current membership, one is purchased during the registration process.
