Event overview
The Sky Trail Adventure Challenge takes place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Camp McClintock, 216 County Rd 2427, Bartlesville, OK 74003. The event is organized by the Cherokee Area Council Scouting America. The single listed event fee is $75 and the race is open to adults 18 and over. The event is promoted as a zero-waste-to-landfill event; materials provided will be compostable or recyclable. Dogs are not permitted. Entry includes a native plant from a local nursery, and long-sleeved T-shirts are available for purchase.
Course and logistics
The event begins with a secured ascent of a 24-foot climbing tower, a zipline across Sand Creek, and crossing a suspension bridge back to the start area before the timed portion. The timed course includes:
- 3.2 miles on Camp McClintock trails
- 0.75 miles of kayak on the creek (out and back; kayaks provided)
- 0.9 miles around the campground returning by the Cub Cabin to the finish
The course runs through the Osage Hills and includes rocky terrain, grassy fields, and elevation changes. Certified volunteers and staff will manage safety at the climbing tower and kayak sections. Packet pickup is available on the morning of the event. Campsites are available for rent the night before; participants should follow Leave No Trace principles and refrain from bringing alcoholic beverages.
