Rocky Gap Off-Road Triathlon, Duathlon, Aqua Bike, and Relay

The Rocky Gap Off-Road Triathlon, Duathlon, Aqua Bike, and Relay takes place on July 12, 2026, at Rocky Gap State Park in Flintstone, Maryland. This is the 22nd annual running of the event and it offers multiple race formats including Triathlon, Triathlon Relay, Duathlon, Duathlon Relay, AquaBike, and AcquaBike Relay.

Course details vary by event. The triathlon begins with a two lap swim in warm, clear mountain lake water. The duathlon begins with a 2.7 mile semi technical trail run. After the opening segment all competitors complete two laps of a mountain bike course that features twisty lakeside singletrack, wide fire roads, smooth grassy sections, and several rock gardens. Races finish with a 5.5 mile run over trails that include rooty sections, open flats, and some climbs and descents.
