About the race
Pisgah 12 Hour Adventure Race is held at Lake James State Park near Nebo, North Carolina, at the edge of the Linville Gorge. The multi-discipline course combines trekking on foot, mountain biking, and paddling on the lake. The event uses NCARS’s 'choose-your-own adventure' format with simple loops for each discipline, and checkpoints are optional, letting teams decide their route.
Teams of 1–4 compete to collect punches from flags, aiming for the highest points in the shortest time. Gear lists include a mountain bike, helmet, PFD, paddling craft, maps, and navigation tools. Boats can be rented if needed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
