Event Details
The Oro Valley Triathlon and Duathlon Festival is a multisport event featuring triathlon, duathlon, and aquabike disciplines. It is a USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned event.

Course Description
The swim takes place in the Olympic pool at the Oro Valley Aquatics Center, set to long course, using a serpentine swim format. The location is at the base of the Catalina Mountains.
The entire bike course is coned off from traffic, with a dedicated lane for participants. The route features fast downhills and a couple of short uphills. A designated no-passing/slow speed zone exists on part of the course.
The run course is described as flat and fast. For duathlon participants, the run involves one loop before the bike segment and two loops after it.
Event Logistics
The transition area opens and closes before the race start. Participants must collect a timing chip with their bib number. The event starts with the Intermediate Triathlon, followed by the Sprint Duathlon and Sprint Triathlon.
The finish line provides participants with a finisher medal, water, bananas, and Sonoran hot dogs. An awards ceremony is held near the finish line. Awards are given for overall and age-group placings in several categories. Awards are not mailed.
Parking is available at the Aquatic Center's lot, at nearby Canyon Del Oro High School, and behind James D. Kreigh Park. VIP parking is available for purchase. Spectators are welcome at the pool, in the park, and along the courses.
Rules & Policies
All participants must follow USAT rules, which prohibit drafting and the use of electronic devices like MP3 players and cell phones on the course. An approved helmet with a fastened chin strap is mandatory on the bike. Entry fees are non-refundable, but a deferral option to the following year is available under a sliding scale policy.
