Event overview
The Oro Valley Triathlon and Duathlon Festival takes place in Oro Valley, Arizona on March 14, 2026. The event is USAT sanctioned and includes multiple race options: Intermediate Triathlon, Sprint Triathlon (including Athena and Clydesdale categories), Sprint Aquabike, Sprint Duathlon, and several relay categories. Minors under 18 are not permitted to compete due to USA Triathlon requirements. The event does not offer refunds; entries may be deferred up to one year on a sliding scale.
Course and competition rules
The swim occurs at the Oro Valley Aquatics Center in a long-course pool with serpentine laps. The bike course is coned off from general traffic and uses one dedicated car lane and bike lane; it includes some fast downhills and short uphills. The run course is described as flat; duathletes complete one run loop before the bike and two loops after the bike. The Oro Valley Police Department will manage traffic at major intersections. Participants must stay to the right of course cones; being left of a cone can result in disqualification. Drafting and most electronic audio devices are not allowed. Helmets approved by the Consumer Product Safety Commission must be worn with chin straps fastened before mounting and kept fastened until the bike is racked.
Logistics and awards
Transitions are located in the parking lot east of the pool with marked mount and dismount lines. Timing chips require presentation of the bib number to collect; athletes without a bib will not receive a chip. Awards include overall top finishers for intermediate and sprint triathlons, overall duathlon winners, relay team winners by category, and age-group awards three deep beginning with 18-19. Finishers receive a medal and on-course refreshments. Parking areas are listed near the Aquatics Center and nearby school and park lots. Shirts are available while supplies last and sizes are guaranteed for registrations received by February 15, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
