Participants compete in three distinct segments including swimming, cycling, and running. The event is open to individual competitors and relay teams consisting of two or three people. All participants must be at least 18 years old.
The course structure consists of the following distances:
- 750 meter swim on a triangular course at Lake Pennesseewassee

The cycling portion includes a turnaround point located beyond Richardson Hollow Road before returning to the transition area. The final running leg concludes back at Pennesseewassee Park. Various categories are available for registration, including individual entries and male, female, or coed relay teams.
Proceeds from the event go to the Western Foothills Land Trust, an organization that protects land and manages recreational trails in the Oxford Hills region. Race packets are available for pickup the day before the event at the Little Red Schoolhouse or on the morning of the competition at the park. Competitors receive a timing chip and professional body marking before the start of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
