Event overview
The 39th Annual Milkman Triathlon takes place in Dexter, New Mexico on Saturday, June 6, 2026. It is a sprint triathlon that begins with a swim in Lake Van, continues with a bike leg toward Bottomless Lakes State Park, and finishes with a run through the Southwestern Native Aquatic Resources & Recovery Center. Distances for the race are:

Entries and rules
Three event categories are listed: SOLOIST, Mixed RELAY, and CHS. Entry fees shown are $55 for SOLOIST and $20 for Mixed RELAY and CHS. Registration opening dates are given as February 4, 2026 for SOLOIST and Mixed RELAY, and March 9, 2026 for CHS. Relays must be mixed gender to qualify for awards.
The event follows common USAT competition rules. Examples include wearing a helmet and chinstrap while in possession of a bike, no drafting, no glass containers in transition, visible race numbers during the run, and restrictions on the distracting use of communication devices during competition.
