About the race
Mermaid Triathlon & Duathlon Capitola 2025 takes place at Capitola Beach on California’s coast. It offers multiple race options: Sprint Triathlon (600m swim, 10.5 mile bike, 3.1 mile run), Sprint Duathlon (1.5 mile run, 10.5 mile bike, 3.1 mile run), Super Sprint Triathlon (300m swim, 5 mile bike, 2 mile run), Aquabike, a 5K run, and a Virtual option. It is the longest-running women’s triathlon in California and is friendly to first-time competitors.
The course features an ocean swim around the Capitola wharf, rolling coastal bike, and a run along the ocean bluff above Capitola Village. Finisher swag includes a shirt, medal, and necklace, plus Family & Friends and Athena divisions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
