Event Details
The Lake Country Triathlon takes place on July 25, 2026, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. The event location is the City Beach on Lac La Belle, with an address of 304 W. Wisconsin Ave.
Distances
The event offers six different formats:
- Sprint
- Olympic
- Half Iron
- Sprint Relay
- Olympic Relay
- Half Iron Relay
Age requirements vary by event: the Sprint, Olympic, and their relays are open to ages 16-99; the Half Iron is for ages 18-99; and the Half Iron Relay is for ages 17-99.
Course Information
The triathlon consists of three segments. The swim takes place in Lac La Belle, starting at City Beach. The bike course travels through the rolling glacial landscape northwest of Oconomowoc, with different routes for each distance. The run is an out-and-back course along Wisconsin Avenue and through neighborhoods on the southern shore of Lac La Belle. Water temperatures in late July are typically in the mid-70s°F.
Participant Information
All finishers receive a custom medal, race bib, and finisher shirt. Participants registered before July 10, 2026 are guaranteed a gender-specific dry wick race shirt. Volunteers for the event can run a future race at no charge.
Event Rules
Specific rules govern each segment. Swim caps must be worn, and wetsuit use depends on water temperature. Helmets are mandatory on the bike course, and drafting is not permitted. Race bibs must be worn on the front during the run. Headphones are only allowed during the run portion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
