Event details

The Idaho High Mountain Triathlon is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, in Yellow Pine, Idaho. The event includes individual and relay options for able-bodied and adaptive athletes: a full triathlon, an adaptive triathlon, a triathlon relay, an adaptive triathlon relay, and a mixed adaptive relay where at least one team member is able-bodied. Relay teams must include three athletes. Awards and an after party are held in Yellow Pine. Local camping is available free of charge. Registrations and donations are tax deductible through YPAC Corp., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with funds directed to local needs and future editions of the race. Registration closes September 27, 2025.

Course and logistics

The race is a point-to-point course from Warm Lake to Yellow Pine that uses the area topography, including a summit crossing. Key course facts:

  • 1 mile open water swim
  • 27 mile bike ride
  • 7 mile run

The course covers elevations from 5,300 feet up to 7,300 feet and down to about 4,900 feet. The road from Warm Lake to Landmark is paved; the road from Landmark to Yellow Pine is dirt.
