General Smallwood Triathlon
The General Smallwood Triathlon takes place at General Smallwood State Park in Marbury, Maryland. The event features several multisport categories including Olympic and Sprint distances for triathlons, aquabikes, and relay teams. Participants swim in Mattawoman Bay, a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay, followed by cycling and running segments through Charles County.
The cycling portion of the event utilizes paved roads characterized by rolling hills and low traffic volumes.
