Game On! Key Largo Triathlon Summer
The Game On! Key Largo Triathlon Summer takes place at the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo, Florida. This event utilizes the landscape of the first undersea park in the United States, which consists of approximately 70 nautical square miles of coral reefs, mangrove swamps, and tropical hammocks.
Participants can choose from several multisport formats including triathlon, duathlon, and aquabike. The swim portion is held in the salt water at the park's main beach, characterized by shallow depths and minimal current. The cycling segment follows an out-and-back route on the Overseas Highway and Card Sound Road. The run course leads through local residential neighborhoods featuring traditional conch houses before returning to the state park.
