Event overview

The Folsom Lake International Triathlon takes place at Granite Beach, Folsom Lake, in Granite Bay, California. The event is organized by Total Body Fitness and the 2026 edition is limited to 300 athletes. The race includes a lake swim, a road bike course on country roads, and a trail run. The Olympic-distance Triathlon and the Aquabike are sanctioned by USA Triathlon and require an annual or one-day USAT license. Each competitor receives a pair of custom socks, a swim cap, post-race refreshments, and a Folsom Lake Triathlon finishers hat. Commemorative race t-shirts are available for $20 if ordered before May 3.

  • Olympic-distance triathlon: 1.5K swim - 40K bike - 10K run
  • Aqua-Bike: 1.5K swim - 40K bike

Packet pick-up is race morning at the venue from 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. Awards include Overall Champion awards for first place male and female, awards three deep in each five-year age group, and relay team awards for top teams in male, female, and coed divisions. The Aqua-Bike has awards for the top three male and female overall finishers. Entry fees listed for 2026 are $165 (Olympic), $180 (relay team), and $130 (Aqua-Bike). TBF Racing has a no-refund policy; refunds requested before race week are issued as race credit minus a $25 processing fee. Race and participant transfers are allowed with a $25 fee and are not allowed during race week. A volunteer program offers a $50 voucher for a four-hour shift.
