Crofton's Dam Race
Crofton's Dam Race takes place on July 25, 2026 in Crofton, Nebraska along the shores of Lewis and Clark Lake. The event offers multiple race formats on the same day, including a sprint triathlon that uses kayaking instead of swimming, a half marathon, and a 12-mile bike race. There are also e-bike versions and team and youth team triathlon divisions.
Most events are open to ages 14 to 99; the youth team triathlon is open to ages 14 to 19. Participants receive a race t-shirt plus a meal and beverage at the Finish Line Party; additional shirts and meals are available for purchase.
The race start is at Weigand Beach within Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area and the finish is on Main Street in Crofton. A finish line celebration is held at the Crofton Haymarket on Main Street. Prizes include a plaque for the overall individual winner, medals for individual age-group winners and the fastest team, and medals for half marathon finishers. The organizers note that every participant will receive a high five.
Team registration is handled through a team captain who pays the full team fee and may either send a registration link to team members or add registrants directly. Bike helmets and life jackets are required. Local lodging and camping options are listed for Crofton. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
