Event overview
The Columbia Duathlon is a USA Triathlon sanctioned multisport event held in Columbia, Maryland at 7000 Columbia Gateway Drive. The event includes an adult sprint race and two youth races for ages 7–10 and 11–15. The looped courses are described as relatively flat with one hill. The event has a published capacity of 450 participants and has sold out in recent years.

Race logistics and rules
Registration fee includes a short-sleeve shirt and finisher medal. Parking is provided in the corporate lot at 7021 Columbia Gateway Drive, directly across from the transition area. The transition area is limited to athletes and one accompanying adult/guardian or sibling age 15 or older for youth competitors; access is controlled by wristbands. Sprint participants receive an ankle timing chip on race morning in the transition area; youth competitors receive timing chips at the start line. Bike courses are looped with police support and signage at turns and no aid stations on the bike. One aid station is available on the adult run loop.
Eligibility and awards
Adult entrants must be at least 14 years old; youth entrants must be 7–15 years old. Adults are awarded overall top three in male, female, and non-binary categories plus age-group awards. Youth awards are given to the top three finishers by single-year age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
