Event
The Anthem Sprint Triathlon is a reverse-order sprint triathlon held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Anthem Community Center in Anthem, Arizona. The race sequence is run, bike, then swim. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and requires participants to hold an annual membership or purchase a one-day membership.
Distances
- Adult triathlon - Run 3.1 miles, Bike 20 km, Swim 400 m
- Kids triathlon - Run 1/2 mile, Bike 4.5 miles, Swim 200 m
Course and logistics
The adult run is a 5 km out-and-back on the sidewalk. The adult bike course is 20 km made up of three loops; helmets are required and a designated lane separates bike traffic from vehicles. The swim takes place in a pool and uses a lane-based, one-way pattern that requires two cycles to complete the swim distance; participants must enter the pool feet first. Kid distances use shorter out-and-back and single-loop routes; parents or guardians may accompany children on course and must wear a helmet if they ride.
Timing uses RFID ankle chips that must be worn with the provided Velcro strap and returned after the event. The community center lot serves as primary parking; overflow parking is at Anthem Community Park (coordinates 33.85883607960105, -112.13545843451728). Racer amenities include a long-sleeve hoodie, post-race refreshments, finisher medals, and awards by overall, age group, and category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
